Background

Parkfresh plc, founded in 1991 and based in Skelmersdale, is one of the market leaders in fresh produce supply in the North West of England offering fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy produce and bakery products.

Fresh Direct UK was established in 1966 as a local fresh produce wholesaler, which has since grown into a National supplier of a whole range of food and drink including fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy produce, meats and charcuterie, drinks and prepared foods.

Langtons acted as Lead Advisors to the shareholders of Parkfresh plc, working closely with them during the sale process and assisting them with presenting information, negotiating the terms and structure of the deal, and co-ordinating the due diligence process, whilst providing support throughout the legal process.

Following the completion of the deal, Parkfresh operated under the name Fresh Direct Local (North West) with Boyd Park, the former Parkfresh CEO and Shareholder, joining the main board of Fresh Direct UK Limited.
